Yard projects create surprising volume. One afternoon of pruning can fill a pickup bed several times, and clearing an overgrown fence line can produce more brush than most curbside programs will take. Fancy Dumpster Rentals offers yard waste containers throughout Half Moon, NC for homeowners, landscapers, and property managers who want organic debris gone in one efficient haul.
Room for branches, brush, leaves, sod, and landscape debris so your property looks finished instead of half done.
Green waste is often handled differently from household trash. Many facilities send clean yard debris to composting or mulching operations rather than the landfill. That is good for the environment, and it means the load should contain only organic material.
What counts as yard waste
Typical yard waste includes tree limbs, shrub trimmings, leaves, grass clippings, pulled weeds, small stumps, and old landscape plants. Sod and soil are yard debris too, but they are much heavier and need special attention when choosing a container. Treated lumber from a deck, or landscape timbers soaked in preservatives, is not considered green waste and should be discussed separately. Keeping the load purely organic may qualify it for a different disposal route.
Sizing for brush versus heavy material
Brush and leaves are bulky but light, so a 15 or 20 yard container suits most seasonal cleanups and tree trimming jobs. Land clearing or large overgrowth removal may justify a 30 yard box. Dirt, sod, rock, and stumps behave very differently. They are dense, and a 10 yard container is often the practical ceiling for them because of weight limits. If your project includes both, ask about loading the heavy material into a smaller container or splitting the job.
Loading tips that save space
Cut long limbs into shorter lengths so they lie flat instead of creating air pockets. Break down brush piles and spread material evenly across the container floor. Bag loose leaves only if the facility accepts bagged material, or load them loose and press them down with a rake. Use the rear door for bulky root balls and stump sections so you are not lifting heavy pieces over the walls.

Common questions
- Can I put dirt and rocks in a yard waste dumpster?
- Often yes, but they usually go in a smaller container because of weight, and some facilities want them separated from green waste. Tell us the approximate amount when you book.
- Are tree stumps accepted?
- Small stumps are commonly accepted. Large stumps are heavy and may be subject to size or weight limits, so describe the diameter and count when you call.
- Will you place the container on my lawn?
- We generally recommend a hard surface such as a driveway, because loaded containers are heavy and can leave ruts in soft ground. If the lawn is the only option, we can discuss the risks and the best spot.
